Background
WaterAid is an international non-governmental non-profit, focused on water, sanitation, and hygiene. The organization was established by the UK water industry in 1981 as a response to the UN International Drinking Water Decade. In 2010, WaterAid expanded to become an international federation with entities in the UK, USA, Australia, Japan, Sweden, Canada, and India. Its focus is to provide people around the world with clean water, safe sanitation, and better hygiene. Their main offices are in London, but WaterAid operates in 34 countries around the world.
Challenge
Oversite of funding cumbersome and time consuming. Integrations were taking a couple of staff-days to code per month. Synthesizing and reporting information, as well as documenting events and activities, were complex. Graphs were not automatically calculated and needed to be tracked through monthly postings.

Jitterbit has improved planning at a federated and country program level. Program managers can now compare budgets against operational plans. Before Jitterbit, it was not clear which system was correct. Data transfer is now made on a secure, scheduled, and reliable way. Among other things, reliable data transfer enables development officers to manage their own budgets daily. Jitterbit’s alerting capability identifies when something goes wrong, allowing IT to respond before an issue becomes a wider business problem.
