Tulsa Winch Company Data Integration Systems Success

The Company

For over 90 years, TWG, an operating company of the Dover Corporation, has been a global leader in manufacturing winches, hoists, slewing ring bearings, swing drives, electronic monitoring systems, and more. Headquartered in Tulsa, Oklahoma, with a second plant in Surrey, British Columbia, and an office in Bangalore, India, TWG offers a range of essential parts and products across seven model lines: DP Winch, Gear Products, Greer, LANTEC, Pullmaster, Tulsa Winch, and RUFNEK. Dover Corporation employs more than 26,000 people worldwide and is traded on the New York Stock Exchange under the symbol “DOV.” Dover is ranked 360th on the Fortune 500. Despite all the success TWG has achieved in recent years, it still had a business problem.

The Business Problem

The company’s back-office ERP system was not integrated with its front-office CRM system. This gap made the quoting process cumbersome. Manual re-keying of information introduced costly errors. Duplicate data resulted in questionable reporting. TWG sales representatives where required to access many different applications to get just the basic information they needed to complete quotes. This lack of information hurt the adoption of the CRM system, resulting in lower front office productivity and wasted license fees. Bad data even threatened to compromise management decisions.

The Project

To fix these problems, TWG turned to Jeffrey Uy. A 17-year veteran of the company, Uy wears many hats. Not only is he responsible for installing, maintaining, and supporting the company’s ERP system, which in this case happened to be Epicor. Uy is also responsible for maintaining and supporting the company’s implementation of Salesforce.

When the time came to look for a software solution to connect Epicor with Salesforce, it was easy for Uy to look to Jitterbit first.  The fact that TWG was already successfully using the product was one influence. When Uy heard that Epicor was entering into an exclusive partnership with Jitterbit, it sealed his decision.

The Result

Using Jitterbit, TWG was able to connect Epicor with Salesforce and automate the quoting process.  With the Jitterbit integration platform, quotes take less time for the field to create. They require less manual entry. The data quality has improved in both systems. The increased adoption of Salesforce is leading to higher employee productivity, sales rep retention, and customer satisfaction. Better data has given management the confidence to make faster and more accurate decisions. TWG plans to use Jitterbit for projects in the future.
