Jitterbit is an interconnected family that reflects the world at large. We represent many races, religions, ethnicities, and preferences. As a family, we stand in solidarity with our brothers and sisters in our commitment to peace and equality in the United States and around the world.
The events that have unfolded during the past few weeks in the US, ranging from the heinous murders of Ahmaud Arbery and George Floyd to the continued racism we have witnessed during protests across the country, are disturbing and vicious assaults on our good senses.
We at Jitterbit will not avert our gaze. We will not turn away from injustice and we will not ignore pleas for equality and fairness. All of us, including the Leadership Team, are watching and listening. We emphatically believe that #BlackLivesMatter and we will not now or ever tolerate discrimination against any people for any reason. This belief extends from individual people to the partners, companies and institutions with whom we do business.
Our collective hope is that as a nation and as a global society that the events unfolding will force us away from what has for centuries been regarded as “normal”. We simply cannot ignore this as not our problem to solve or worse, to deny that the very problem itself exists. Instead, we will work to embrace and create a world that people can live in without concern for their safety because of the color of their skin or their personal preferences.
It should be noted that these are tense and challenging times, however, these challenges are not new to us. We can affect change at the local, state and national levels by giving time, money and by voting our conscience at each election.
We remain committed to the ideal that people are good and that people want to do good. People all over the world, regardless of race, religion, ethnicity or preference want to raise their children well, have quality education, healthcare and to be treated as equals. We at Jitterbit hold these principles as foundational to who and what we are as a collective.
