As part of Jitterbit’s commitment to the Pledge 1% movement, also known as the 1-1-1 model (to leverage our technology, people and resources for philanthropic work), Jitterbit was a proud sponsor of Team Carb DM at the Silicon Valley Tour de Cure again this year.
The ride commenced at the HP Headquarters in Palo Alto on Sunday, June 11 and was hosted by the American Diabetes Association. Growing from 27 riders in 2016, 43 team members of Team Carb DM sported team jerseys thanks to Jitterbit’s sponsorship.
Jitterbit’s Director of Marketing Programs, Krishna Varia, was the team captain and rode along with her family and Jitterbit’s Vera Rossi. Krishna’s husband Scott and 12-year-old daughter Mia have type 1 diabetes (T1D). Every rider has a family member or friend with T1D or are a T1D themselves (Go Red Riders Riders!).
Fast “Freddie” Rodriguez, four-time National Road Race Champion and four-time Tour de Georgia stage winner, rides alongside and mentors some of the younger Carb DM riders.
