The ongoing Customer Q & A blog series highlights a wide range of Jitterbit customers to find out what business needs drove their integration requirements and why they made Jitterbit their integration solution of choice.
In this week’s hot seat is a Project Manager from one of the nation’s largest healthcare providers with over 60,000 caregivers across 21 states.
How did you find out about Jitterbit and what were some of the reasons you chose it as your integration solution?
Back in 2012 we were at a Salesforce training and were looking for a solution to sync data between Salesforce and our healthcare providers. Essentially, our hospitals had physicians who wanted to access our data and we needed to bring those credentialed physicians into our Salesforce instance. A Salesforce employee mentioned the Jitterbit Data Loader to us. We tried it out and it worked great. At Dreamforce (the annual Salesforce.com User conference and largest Cloud event) that year, I remember speaking to Jitterbit and talking about additional functionality requirements. As a result we upgraded from the Data Loader to get into true application integration with Jitterbit.
Before Jitterbit, we were custom coding everything. We even looked at Informatica, very briefly. It didn’t take us long to realize it was over-priced and completely overkill for what we needed. It just made sense for us to take a step up from the Data Loader that we already used. It was a very smooth transition.
How do you currently use Jitterbit?
We use Jitterbit in several projects currently and look forward to extending that use in many ways. We started with the Jitterbit Data Loader and upgraded to the enterprise version. We initially were looking at more than 30 endpoints and connecting this data from them, transforming it, and syncing it to Salesforce.
Our data deals with facilities, hospitals, clinics and practice groups within different organizations and we’re tracking the relationship in between providers and those facilities. In many cases these providers have multiple relationships, for example, a doctor works at a hospital and also has his own practice and wants to have a clinic on the side or he’s part of a foundation – we track that whole relationship. And it is this 360-degree view of the provider that Jitterbit makes possible. So you answer questions quickly such as, “where does this guy work?” And the answer is, “well he works at all these places, but he’s employed here and he’s credentialed here”.
From a business perspective, how has Jitterbit helped you?
As an enterprise healthcare organization that has various groups within it using Jitterbit. Essentially, we are using Jitterbit to make our provider database accessible to all these groups within our organization who are looking for various slices of that database.
We haven’t really done an ROI analysis on this yet, but I can tell you that we are saving weeks of custom coding time by 8-10 employees. We’re only just starting to get the word out but I expect to expand our use of Jitterbit.
Our upcoming projects includes a requirement for the HL7 document protocol. Another project involves accessing Lawson and Sharepoint. And guess what? Jitterbit can do that too. Jitterbit is quickly becoming our go-to tool for all integration needs. We’ll never again use a team of developers. Now we have Jitterbit and we can do the integration ourselves in a matter of days.
Thanks so much for sharing your experience with your successful implementation of a Cloud CRM to an on premise ERP in the context of healthcare. We’d like everyone here to know we are committed to empowering healthcare organizations succeed with connecting all systems and applications, whether in the cloud, on premise or any mobile strategy. To that effect, we will be at the annual HIMSS conference in Chicago this year from April 12 – 15. Jitterbit will be at booth #7432.
